Once upon a time in a faraway land (okay in March 2017, Newcastle upon Tyne) ELLEfluence was launched as an offshoot of our CEO (Laura Dawson)’s, elleblonde.com. A blogger, YouTuber and social media influencer herself, Laura was all too familiar with the feeling of being undervalued by brands, and so made it her mission to make that a thing of the past and see to it than every influencer in the world of digital marketing (or at least everyone on her books) is fairly compensated for their work.
This wasn’t the first business Laura had launched however. At only 20 years old and in her second year of university studying for her First-class Honours degree in Business Management, Laura opened a boutique selling high-end dog-wear (think Harrods for dogs!) and ran this until the end of 2014 when, intrigued by the idea of being able to live a laptop lifestyle and work whenever from wherever, she moved into the world of e-commerce with a couple of online fashion and furniture stores.
It was through her e-com sites that Laura found her passion for blogging, and shortly after that set up her own personal platform. Before long Laura had made a name for herself through the Elle Blonde brand, and is now an award-winning, daily-uploading content creator with tens of thousands of subscribers (cha to the ching).
Laura also offers services in consultancy, coaching, branding, advertising and web development (Jack of all trades and all that), but when she’s not trying to run the world you’ll probably find her in Vegas supping on Sugar Factory fish bowl cocktails. What? All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!
